The Ivy Tech State College has several campuses throughout the state of Indiana, one of them located in Bloomington. Graduates of the practical nursing program at the Bloomington campus have shown impressive results on the NCLEX-PN examination for several consecutive years. In 2003 the NCLEX-PN pass rate was 98.51% while in 2004 it reached the maximum 100%. The following two years practical nursing students kept the average well above 90% and in 2005 the pass rate was 96.83% while in 2006 it reached 98.48%.
For 2007 the school has again reached the 100% NCLEX-PN passing rate. The practical nursing program offered at Ivy Tech begins every fall and spring semester, it takes one year to complete, and upon graduation it awards students a technical certificate. Each student is then allowed to sit for the national exam and obtain a practical nurse license in the state of Indiana.
